Other Computer Systems
2005
Before the release of the Intel Macintosh systems, i used my iBook for my main computer, and a Windows PC for any AutoCAD software i required. This is a photograph of my office c.2005, with a Flatbed scanner and the Intel Play Microscope.
2007
Following the release of the Intel Range of Macs, i was able to lose the Windows PC and replace this with an Intel iMac running Parallels Desktop. The iBook was my mobile system, along with an iPod Classic.
2009
My G3 iMac was recycled by my parents as the centre of their digital hub, along with a colour inkjet printer and a Dye sublimation photo printer. They have since upgraded to an Intel Mac Mini and the G3 has been donated to researchers in CIGMR who use PPC software for Genome analysis
2009
Whilst building two PC’s at work, my office began to resemble a geeks paradise. At this time, I was using a HP Laptop with external display, an iMac as my main PC and two Windows XP systems for lab machines.
2009 - 2014
At home, my system is based around the iMac, with my personal MacBook Pro. Two Airport Express systems form a Wi-Fi network which allows wireless printing and audio streaming.
2010 - 2014
My old iBook is now used to stream movies to my TV for family entertainment, with a local external hard drive to supplement its meagre storage.
